For your convenience, our most common customer questions are answered right here.
Q-When is your shop open?
A- The shop is open at least one day a week. The best way to find that out is to check the calendar on the website. Days highlighted in yellow are days that the shop will be open for sure. There will be other times or days and I will post those on the Facebook page. Appointments are always welcome.Just give us a call. We will try our best to accommodate your schedule.
Q- How do I buy a gun online?
A- You can go to any website that sells guns to the public (we have provided links to websites that we have done business with) and follow their procedures for purchasing the gun. At some point in the process you will have to select a FFL dealer in your state to have the gun shipped to. At that time you can select Mark’s Guns and Gear from a list of licensed dealers or list us. If the company does not have a copy of our FFL you can contact us and we will make arrangements to get them a copy of it. Some companies may also contact us directly. Once the arrangements are made the gun is shipped to Mark’s Guns and Gear. Once it arrives you will be contacted and we can set up a time for you to come and receive your gun.
Q- What do I need to bring when I pick up a gun?
A- You will need to provide a valid government issued photo ID. If you are purchasing a handgun you will need to also provide a valid permit to purchase handguns or a valid permit to carry weapons. If you are purchasing a long gun (rifle or shot gun) the permits can be used instead of a NICS check. If you do not have a permit then a NICS check will have to be completed prior to the transfer of the gun.
Q- What are your fees for doing a transfer?
A- Our fee is $25 per transfer with a 3 guns per transfer maximum. We do offer a 20% discount to all active duty or retired military and emergency responders. There is not a transfer fee associated with any guns purchased directly from Mark’s Guns and Gear.
Q- What is you warranty / return policy?
A- Used firearms warranty is 10 days- excluding accuracy, finish, wood and consignments. All other warranties are those of the manufacturer or wholesaler. Shipping is the purchaser’s responsibility. We do not warranty any firearms that have had reloads fired in them. We do not accept returns on firearms, ammunition or components.
Q- What do I do if I want to special order something?
A- There is a 50% down payment required on all special orders with the balance due upon transfer of the firearm.
Q- Can I buy a silencer, short barreled rifle or machine gun from Mark’s Guns and Gear?
A- No. Currently we are a Class 01 dealer only. You would need to find a Class03 dealer for those items.
Q- Do you offer a layaway program?
A- Yes. Items can be placed on a 30-day layaway program with 25% down. If the item is not paid for and transferred within 30 days another 25% payment is required or the item will be returned to inventory and the down payment forfeited. After 60 days items not paid for will be returned to inventory with a 20% restocking fee.
Q- What are your consignment fees?
A- Consignment fees are 10% of the selling price with a minimum of $30 and maximum of $1000. Please see our consignment agreement in the forms section of the website for complete details.
Q- Why should I consign a firearm with Mark’s Guns and Gear?

Transferring your firearm thru a FFL dealer provides you with peace of mind that the purchaser is not prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.
